The Matthews Foundation gave a grant to family from Maryland whose seven year old son Collin has Leukemia. The family was struggling to pay their medical bills due to the lengthy and expensive treatments needed to fight Leukemia. They also have three other children, a mortgage and normal living expenses. The Matthews Foundation grant for $2,800 helped get them through a difficult time and to keep Collin’s medical treatments on track.

The family was in danger of losing their home as the medical and other related bills were mounting. The Matthews Foundation grant for $3,000 allowed them to keep their home and to allow Faith to stay in a clean and safe environment as she continues her battle with Leukemia.
The Matthews Foundation awarded a $3,000 grant to a family in Brooklyn, NY. Their son, Nicholas, was diagnosed with High Risk ALL. Nicholas has faced many complications with his treatment at age 3. The TMF grant helped to alleviate some financial burden for monthly bills and rent.
A family from Sykesville, Maryland received a $3,000.00 grant to help pay their mortgage.
A family from Baltimore, Maryland received a $3,000.00 grant to help pay their real estate taxes.
A family from Severn, Maryland received a $3,000.00 grant to help pay their child’s medical bills. Rajae was diagnosed in 2005 and suffered a relapse in 2010. This family also needed help with their monthly bills. Unfortunately, Rajae lost his battle to Leukemia. He was survived by his parents and younger sister. It was our honor to have been able to help this family through a difficult time.
Casey Cares Foundation received a $1,000.00 donation to help with their mission to help children and their families with devastating medical diagnoses (www.caseycares.com) .
A family from Havre de Grace, Maryland, received a $1,500.00 grant to help with the cost of home repairs. Their son, Thomas, was in treatment at Hopkins for cancer. Thomas has a younger sister and was diagnosed in 2012.
A family from Middle River, Maryland receive $1,800.00. Their son, Jaxsen, was diagnosed with ALL in 2013. The grant from The Matthews Foundation helped with monthly household bills so that Jaxsen’s mom could focus on caring for her sick son.
